Sushi Go!
Sushi Go! is a great introduction to the pick and pass mechanic that you’ll see in many other games such as 7 Wonders or Caper. Your goal is to collect sets of sushi cards that work together to score you sweet sweet points. You can’t eat the cards.
Year of Release: 2013
Number of Players: 2-5
Playing Time: 20 min
Listed Age: 8+
Mechanics: Card Drafting
Theme in a Nutshell: Sushi
What I like:
The game has a very fun art style and the sushi are very cute little dudes. It’s very easy to teach, and small kids can play along as well. They may not play particularly effectively, but play they can.
A game should take well under 30 minutes to complete, even if people don’t know what they’re doing. Very easy to set up, and scoring is easy to understand.
Not a complex game, but as it’s a quick one, more experienced players won’t get bored with it, unless you play multiple games in a row.
My Rating: 7/10
What I don’t like:
The tin that it’s in likes to pop open, which hurts my game storage OCD.
Is if good for kids and families?
Yes! I recommend this game a lot to people starting out in the hobby as it’s a really good gateway game that works for players of all ages and skill levels.
