Year of Release: 2003
Number of Players: 2-4
Playing Time: 20 min
Listed Age: 8+
Mechanics: Hex Movement, Area Control
Theme in a Nutshell: Penguins Eating Fish
What I like:
Easy to play, and actually quite tactical. Kids pick it up quickly as the rules are quite simple. It is a speedy game that should be done in less than 30 minutes.
My Rating: 7/10
What I don’t like:
The biggest downside to the game is that it’s a pain to set up. Almost takes longer to set it up than to play. Lots of hex placing and flipping etc to get it going.
Is if good for kids and families?
You betcha, it’s essentially a kids game, but it’s more thinky than you’d expect, which keeps the adults engaged. It lists the age at 8+, but you can go lower that that quite easily.
