A Fake Artist Goes to New York
Can you draw? No? Great! Much like other hidden role games like Detective Club, The Resistance, or Werewolf, someone in the game is hiding something, but what their hiding is ignorance. Ignorance of what they’re supposed to be drawing.
Year of Release: 2012
Number of Players: 5-10
Playing Time: 20 min
Listed Age: 8+
Mechanics: Hidden Role, Drawing
Theme in a Nutshell: Making “Art”
What I like:
Since players take turns drawing 1 line only on a pad of paper, you don’t need a lot of artistic skill to play.
It can be a lot of fun if you’re the fake artist figuring out what the heck you’re supposed to be drawing.
A hidden role game where you don’t need to be able to lie.
The game is extremely small and portable.
My Rating: 7/10
What I don’t like:
Being small and portable means that your “art” is also small and could be hard to work with for some people.
More of an activity than a game. Scoring seems to be somewhat irrelevant.
Is if good for kids and families?
100% yes. Kooky quick fun that any age can enjoy.
